There are so many hidden gems in Hokkaido. You can see beautiful scenery e.g.; lakes, mountains, forest, sea and so on. I would like to share some gems in Hokkaido.
Autumn leaves everywhere
Many people may not like to Hokkaido after summer because it gets cold in the fall. However, Hokkaido offers foods and scenery that can only be enjoyed in autumn. In particular, the autumn leaves offers beautiful colors with a clear contrast due to the large temperature difference in addition to the magnificent scenery that is unique to Hokkaido.
Even if you do not go to the mountains, you can easily enjoy autumn leaves in the city as long as there are trees. Also, in Hokkaido, you can enjoy the coloring of the mountains from a distance because of mountains everywhere in Hokkaido.
Not only redish colors
The reason why the autumn leaves in Hokkaido is so beautiful is not only because of the beautiful contrast, but also because of the variety of trees, both conifers and broad-leaf trees, which add to the beauty of the autumn leaves as well as the green trees mixing with the autumn leaves.
My favorite spot is Hokkaido University, famous for its yellow ginkgo. This national university is famous not only as a prestigious university but also as the university with the largest space in Japan. Why don’t you visit there once in autumn when you feel like a university student again?
